£20,000 raised for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

It’s not often you get the chance to drive home in a brand new £100k Aston Martin, but for the players at the Logan Invitational it was an opportunity too good to miss! The annual charity golf day hosted by former Scotland Rugby player Kenny Logan and Sports Presenter Gabby Logan, has been running since 2012 and the proceeds from this year’s fundraiser went to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The fantastic event managed to raise over £20,000 – a huge amount and a fantastic achievement! The charity, founded by Scottish rugby legend Doddie Weir, supports people with living with Motor Neurone Disease and helps fund much needed research to hopefully find a cure. Learn more about the foundation by at www.myname5doddie.co.uk. In 2017, Doddie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, and set up his foundation with two purposes:

To raise funds to research the causes of Motor Neurone Disease and investigate potential cures & to make grants to help sufferers to live as fulfilled a life as possible.

The day was organised by the fantastic Logan Sports Marketing team; they pulled out all the stops for their participants and gave them a golf day to remember. The day included a luxury goody bag, 3 course dinner and the option to have a celebrity captain! The chosen venue was suitably impressive also. If you want a grand and impressive golf day, Stoke Park is the place to go. Surrounding the club’s 300 acre Buckinghamshire estate, the famous Championship golf course is undisputedly one of the finest in the country.

Alongside former Rugby stars Doddie & Kenny, other celebrities and former sports star turned out for the competition such as TV presenter Vernon Kay and jockey AP McCoy!

It was the 3rd hole which played host to the Hole In One competition – with 72 golfers challenged to conquer a 171 yards, uphill (with a strong!). That, along with the £100k Aston Martin Vantage – it was a high-pressure tee shot! Sadly no one was able to make a hole in one, but there were some great efforts (and some less so).
